Hey Everybody,
Thanks to Katherine Kelly from Nous Rapport and The Prospect for joining us this past Saturday. Great sets by both of them. They are still on our top friends if you want to check them out.
Katherine will be doing a Songwriter Showcase In the Round with Joran from Auditorium and myself, as well as one other artists TBA at The Globe this month. I also spoke with the guys in The Prospect about a gig at Java Moon in the near future so we will let you know when we figure that one out.
This week we will be at Limey’s on Thursday night. We will be splitting the night with our friends in Natural Blend.
My show at East Village Cabaret is on Friday. I have had a couple of people e-mail in about the free CD so anyone else that wants one, please let me know. The performance times are 7:30 & 9:00pm. Again, I will be having video filmed of the performance and plan to release a DVD of the night possibly by the end of this year.

PURPLE HEART
This past Sunday, September 9th would have been my grandfathers 89th Birthday. I think about him often and even more around September. I wrote the song Purple Heart about him on his birthday a number of years ago and I thought I would include the lyrics in this weeks e-mail.
With it being the anniversary week of 9-11 too, I thought it would be fitting to mention this song. The inspiration came from wanting to say something about my grandfather to keep his memory alive. I know there are a lot of people probably feeling that way about their own families or friends. We wish them all peace this week and beyond that.
Purple Heart
How I wish you could have stayed - a little longer
make the memories that I've saved - a little stronger
I've got your picture and your name - It's not enough
I wish I had another day with you
Purple Heart...I've been wounded too
It's been hard...wonderin' if you knew
and I live...the way I think you would want me to
I sing your name so loud
you have made me proud...purple heart
I want to watch the rising sun - In California
lose our shoes and run along - the ocean water
they say I made you feel alive again
I would die to see you smiling at me
Purple Heart...I always think of you
It's been hard...trying to get through
and I live in the pain of the days I spend without you
I sing your name so loud
you have made me proud, oh yeah
Purple Heart
Thank you all for your time and support of the band and the music.
Peace,
Dean, Scott, Mike, Mark T. & Mark P.

Hey Everybody,
Thank you to all that made it out to Four Gees this week. Also to everyone that came out to Boomerz for the Save Our Scene show.
We had a really great review in Performer Magazine this month. We were reviewed in the Southeast edition and I found it this weekend. I posted it through Myspace, but thought I would send it in our e-mail this week.
Here is a link to the review:
http://blog.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=blog.ListAll&friendID=3765227
Alright, here is what we have coming up in September:
FOUR GEES
I will be at Four Gees every other Thursday this month. The shows will fall on the first and the third week of September. Dayna will be there for both shows and we will be starting around 7:30pm. The Human Condition has a show at Limey’s on a Thursday and Knowing Stu will be doing a listening party for the new CD as well as an acoustic performance of a couple of songs, so I had to change the schedule for 4G’s.
PASTIMES PUB
This coming Saturday we are playing at Pastimes Pub with The Prospect and Katheirne Kelly from Nous Rapport. This show is a Free and the music will start at 10pm with a solo set by Katherine followed by The Human Condition and then The Prospect. Sarasota folks, we need you out for this one. This is the last second Saturday we have booked for the original music showcases. We can only continue to put these nights together if the turn out is good for this one, so we hope you will come support the night and help us keep a regular spot for the band to play in Sarasota.
LIMEY’S PUB
We will be back at Limey’s on a Thursday night this month. We have once a month shows there except for November and we have a few dates through the beginning of 2008. I will also have a solo acoustic show there in January. I will keep you posted on all of that as it comes up, but I wanted to thank Limey’s for giving us the dates and for being so supportive.
EAST VILLAGE CABARET - DVD shoot
This is the big one for me this month.
The East Village Cabaret is having me perform at their venue in Lakewood Ranch on the 14th of September. There will be 2 performance times for this show, one at 7:30pm and one at 9pm. The cover is $15.00 which is their discounted summer rate for show there. I decided since the cover was high I would offer a free CD of The Human Condition LIVE on 88.5 FM to anyone that makes it out.
I also hired a video crew to come out and film the performance and I plan on recording it as well so I can put together a DVD of the night. I could really use your support and possibly your help in promoting this one. Anyone willing to hand out flyers or help spread the word, please contact me at djohanesen@yahoo.com.
Also, let me know if you plan on attending so I know how many CD’s to make for everyone.
METRO COFFEE AND WINE
Our first show at Metro Coffee and Wine in Sarasota takes place on the 15th of September. I will open acoustic and the band will perform after. We start around 9pm, there is no cover and I believe this one is all ages.
DUNEDIN BREWERY
This month I will be doing a solo show at the Brewery for our third Friday showcase. Rebekah Pulley and The Reluctant Prophets will be there as well as Boon. Both bands are great female fronted groups from the area. I will open around 9-9:30pm and then the bands will take over from there. This one is FREE for you so come on out and join me for a pint of Dunedin’s fine brew.
PELICAN MAN BENEFIT SHOW
The Sarasota Cay Club & S.O.S. (Save Our Seabirds) will be hosting a benefit to raise money for the Pelican Man Bird Sanctuary this month on the 21st. I have been asked to come in and perform at this event where there will be a dinner and cocktails as well as live and silent auctions to help raise money. I will be selling copies of the acoustic EP of Fireflies in Mason Jars and donating all of the funds to the charity to help out.
The Sarasota Cay Club is located at 7150 N. Tamiami Trail in Sarasota. The fundraiser will begin at 6pm and it will feature dinner, and 2 free cocktails, live and silent auctions and live entertainment. You can find out more on S.O.S. by visiting their web site at www.seabirdrehab.org.
SONGWRITER SHOWCASE - In The Round at The Globe
One of my favorite places in St. Pete. (The Globe) run by one of my favorite people (JoEllen) is letting me bring in another awesome line up of songwriters for an In The Round Show on the 28th. This one features Katherine Kelly from Nous Rapport, Joran Slane of Auditorium and Jason formerly of Cuban Sandwich Crisis. We start around 8:30pm - 9pm and play till 12am. There is a suggested “give what you can type of cover / tip jar for the performers” and all ages are welcome to attend.
HILDEGARD’S
Finally, the end of the month brings me back up to Hildegard’s in Valdosta, GA for another 2 day performance. The folks at Hildegard’s were so good to me last time and they have been every time I have gone up there. I can not thank them enough for the support and I am looking forward to another weekend.
This one is Free and the Saturday show starts at 7pm and goes till 9pm. Sunday is a morning performance at 10am and then I will head back home.

Hey Everybody,
Thanks to Rebekah Pulley and the Reluctant Prophets for joining us at Limey’s this past Friday. They played a great set as usual. We always enjoy hanging out with them and performing together.
We had a good crowd and we have a few more dates from Limey’s for the 2008 schedule. I will also be doing a solo acoustic show there in January.
Hildegard’s went really well. Many thanks to Zach and the staff at Hildegard’s as well as Stan and his family for taking such great care of me up there. I will be back in September for the Saturday and Sunday schedule on the 29th and 30th so I hope to see everyone out for those shows.
If you are ever in Valdosta, I highly recommend stopping into Hildegard’s and checking it out. Also, we ate at Café Bleu right up the street and the food was great. Pull off at exit 16 on I-75 and head east to the downtown area. Both places are located on Patterson St.

Thanks to everyone that made it out this week.
Four Gees was busy and our friend Mark from Dunedin made it out to the show after work down here. I appreciate you sticking around Mark.
I played Boomerz with Stu on Friday and Saturday The Human Condition and Knowing Stu played at Pastimes with Geoff of Spot Lucy down here is Sarasota. Thanks to Sandy and Kevin for coming out to that one. Also to Geoff and Stu for playing great sets and for being so easy to work with.
We have one more Pastimes Pub show on the calendar in September. I think we may do that one with The Prospect and one other acoustic opener. I will keep you posted on that and hopefully we can continue these original showcase shows down here in Sarasota.
FOUR GEES
This week I am back at Four Gees. They will be filming this week since they did not last week. Again, I am not sure on the amount of playing I will do with that in mind, but I will be there in case any of you can make it.

If you have not seen or heard either one of these artists you can check them out on our Myspace top friends. They are both great, so we hope you check out their sites and come see them perform with us.

BAND UPDATE
This past week we played Pastimes with Mark Pezzo on bass and Mark Tinker playing guitar for us. The response to the set was really good. The gigs through August and September will most likely feature this line up for the shows so we hope you can come check that out.
Scott is in Vegas till at least October, but should be back when he can be for some of the performances. In the meantime our musical "family" continues to evolve and adapt to bring you the music we believe in in whatever fashion we can.
A LOOK AHEAD
I just want to mention some important gigs we have coming up.

This is a very nice intimate venue in the Lakewood Ranch area. I plan on having a video done of this show as well as recording the night and I will offer anyone who can make it out a deal on whatever comes out of the recording. Alright, have a great week and hopefully we will see you this weekend.

I also want to send our thanks to the Creative loafing for plugging the SMA show and running a picture too. We appreciate the support.
FOUR GEES
This week I have Four Gees on Thursday night. I think they will be filming again, so I am not sure how much of a performance we will get in. The shows this month are starting at 7:30pm and I plan on recording them and posting LIVE tracks on Myspace. I hope to have a version up of Sorry in The Meantime with Dayna on violin from last weeks show soon.

I will also be playing with Stu at Boomerz this coming Friday night. Check on our top friends on Myspace for the link to the Stu site. They will have the list of bands performing that night and all the other details about the show.
CD’S, SNOCAP & I-Tunes
I am putting in another order for our EP. They are selling pretty well, so thanks to all of you that picked one up. I am going to work on getting some shirts done soon too. I will let you know. If anyone has an idea for a design and wants to help us out with that, let me know.
I also added SNOCAP to our Myspace site so you can buy the tracks online. I will add more tunes to it soon, but you can get all the songs on the EP as well as a LIVE version of Godspeed at In The Raw with Tina from Knowing Stu singing with me.
Lastly, we should have our songs available on iTunes as well as Rhapsody, Napster, Emusic and Sony Connect by the beginning of September. I will let you know when that goes through, but I think it is supposed to be by the 6th.

Thanks to all the folks we performed with. Badwithnames, Emily Roff, Bob Anthony and Hector of Acho Brother.
Also to Limey’s for having us out Friday and everyone at the Globe for taking such good care of us on Saturday.
Speaking of the Globe, if they have the Greek Lemon Chicken soup on the menu, you need to get it. Man that was some good soup. Thanks JoEllen.
We have a lot going on in August, so I will get right to it.
SMA 5 Year Anniversary show
Big show this Saturday at the State Theater. If you do not know, we are members of the SMA (Southeastern Music Alliance) which is the organization run by our friend Joran from Auditorium. LIMEY’S PUB
Limey’s will have us back on the 24th of August. I will bring in another band for that and possibly an acoustic artist. Our last show there went pretty well and we were offered dates once a month through December, so we will have more of a regular show there in the months to come.
I don’t know if many of you know this, but Limey’s + Patron + New Castle = sleep in the Limey’s parking lot till 6 am or so. Do the math if you want, but I don’t recommend it.

Hey Everybody,
We had another great week this week.
Thanks to Jason for bringing family and friends out to Four Gees. Also to all of the crew that keeps coming out for the Dunedin Brewery shows. You guys are the best. It’s A Grind started a little slow but I had a pretty good turn out and have a number of new folks that signed up on the mailing list.
Thanks to Tom Scudiero and Bravo as well as the Sarah Mac Band who joined us at Dunedin Brewery. You can check them both out on our top friends on Myspace. www.myspace.com/thehumancondition.
I also want to send a thank you out to Creative Loafing for running a picture in the Tampa / St. Pete edition of this past weeks paper to help promote the Dunedin Brewery show. The Human Condition was also in a PBR ad for the LIVE & LOCAL thing they are doing. If you pick up the last edition the ad is on pg. 73 and the soundboard is pg. 67.
THIS WEEK
This week I have Four Gees on Thursday, a band show with Badwithnames at Limey’s Pub Friday and a Songwriter Showcase at The Globe on Saturday.
Four Gees
This week I will be at Four Gees on Thursday. They are selling tickets to attend that nights performance which you can purchase by calling them at 941-927-8500. There will be an art show and some dance instruction as well as the acoustic performance.
Four Gees will have a TV crew out filming that night so the cover is to help pay for the cost of that. They are working on what may become some kind of reality series filmed from Four Gees and about some of the people that hang out there. If you are interested, come on out for the show and you may even be in it.
LIMEY’S PUB
This coming Friday we are splitting the night at Limey’s Pub with our good friends in Badwithnames. Yeah, I know, they were Head Space and then Moon Daddy for a while, but they could not deny that deep down inside they are still Badwithnames.
This will also be Dustin’s last gig with us, so we hope you can come out and wish him a solid farewell. He has been filling in for Scott at our last number of band gigs, but he will be moving at the end of the month so this will be his last show with us. The show starts at 10 pm and there is no cover.
THE GLOBE
Saturday, I have another Songwriter Showcase at The Globe. This one will feature Acho Brother, Bob Anthony and Emily Roff and we will be doing this show in an In The Round format from 8pm till 12am. I am not charging at the door for these shows anymore, we are just asking for a donation of whatever you can give in the tip jar.
Again, check out our Myspace top friends for links to the artists that will be performing that night.

TBCN TV
The last televised performance of the TBCN TV interview and performance I did is Monday the 30th at 10:30pm. That will be Channel 20 if you have Bright House and 30 for Verizon. I am not getting it down here in Bradenton, so I am guessing that is for ST. Pete and or Tampa. If anyone can record the show for me I would really appreciate it.
BAND UPDATE
Last thing. I had some friends ask about the band situation this weekend, so I thought I would fill you all in.
Scott will be back from Vegas in October some time. He has been working at the Mirage for the Beatles Revolution Lounge but will be coming back and is still a solid member of the band. At the beginning of August he will be in town to play with us at the State Theater SMA show on the 4th as well as the show at Skippers on the 5th. Dustin has been helping us out and we may have a fill in guitar player for the gigs through August and September since Dustin will be gone.
Mark Pezzo from Auditorium has been helping us occasionally for gigs where Mark T. may not be able to make it. Mark T. will be out for a few shows in August and September so we are preparing ourselves for those shows by working with Mark P.
Damn, too many Marks!! And if you think you are confused, you should try scheduling it all. HAHA!!
In October with the full band members back in town and ready to roll, we will talk about the full length and some new tunes and continue to perform locally as well as do some touring.
In the meantime, we are keeping the band shows going with friends helping us out. Thanks to Dustin and Mark P. by the way, for all their help and the time they have put in learning the songs.
Anyway, that is what we have going on. If you guys are wondering about anything else with the band, you can always shoot me an e-mail at djohanesen@yahoo.com and I will let you know what is up.
Alright, that should do it.
Thank you all for your support. We could not do it without you.
Peace,
The Human Condition

Hey Everybody,
Many, many thanks to everyone that came out to the Americana Fest II this past Saturday. The music was so good and everyone played great sets.
Thanks to Ted Lukas from Hangtown for having us back out and for putting it on again and to Flea and everyone at 88.5 FM for supporting and promoting the event. Also, thanks goes out to Skipper’s which is always a great venue to perform at.
We had a great time and the response to our set was awesome. It was really good to have the full band up on stage together as well as having Dustin out on guitar for the show. We sold out of the CD’s I brought with me to the show and we had a few folks sign up on the list as well.
This Week
This week we have a lot of things going on down in Sarasota. Four Gees, Flying Dog Café and Pastimes Pub. One of these gigs will be a band show for sure, so if you have not seen the band we hope you can make it out.
Thursday night I will be at Four Gees. We may be starting a little earlier than 8pm this week depending on the turn out. Next month I will probably push the time up to 7:30pm or so.
Friday I will be back at Flying Dog Café in Sarasota from 8-10pm. I am still not sure whether we will be doing a band set there or not, but I will keep you posted.
Saturday the band will be playing at Pastimes Pub in Sarasota. We will be playing with Emily Roff and another local Sarasota band called 3 Peace fronted by Scott Peace. This is a free event and we will be starting around 10pm. Emily Roff will open acoustic, 3 Peace will perform after that and then THC.
All of these shows are Free by the way, so thanks to the venues for taking care of us and giving everyone a free night of music. Not to mention supporting original music. We really appreciate that.

Reality TV
On the 26th of this month, Four Gees will have a production company out from Miami that will be filming a reality show from Four Gees. I think this will be the pilot for a regular show they are hoping to air from Four Gees and about the people that hang out there. Everyone is welcome to come out for this event and you may just get yourself a spot on television. I will have more details closer to the date.
Alright, that should do it. We hope to see you out for the shows in Sarasota this week.
Thank you all for your support.

*five EP--I have copies of the EP available for anyone that needs one. I will be sure to bring them out to all of our shows this month. If you get a chance to call or e-mail 88.5 FM this week and request one of our tunes, there is a good chance it will get played to promote the Americana Fest II coming up on Saturday. www.wmnf.org / do@wmnf.org or call 813-239-9663.
Recording with the Stu and Jeff Tomei
By the way, the recording sessions were awesome. We worked 12 hour days for 2 days of pre-production and 8 12 hour days of tracking. Jeff was so cool to work with and the pre-mixed pre-mastered tracks already sound great. We are looking forward to hearing the finished product and playing out. We will share a night with Knowing Stu at Pastimes in August, so you can hear some of the new Stu tunes at that show.
Happy fourth to you all, we hope you have a safe holiday and we look forward to seeing you out at the shows this month.
Thank you all so much for your support.
Tuesday, June 19/07
Hey Everybody,
A big thank you to all that came out to this past week and weekends shows.
Thursday I did the show at Four Gees and had a few folks show up for that one.
I will be heading out of town and will not be there for the 21st and 22nd , but Dayna will be playing both of those nights. She will be doing some classical music solo on the violin while I am gone, so go check that out of you get a chance.
Friday’s show at Dunedin Brewery went really well. John Kelly and his band and Aimee Trachtenberg
both played great sets. We had a good response and sold a small pile of CD’s. Thanks to Dustin and Mark P. for filling in with us. They both did a great job on the tunes and will be helping us out here and there in the next couple of months.
Saturday I was down in Naples at It’s A Grind. A little bit of a low turn out for the night, but a good response from the folks there. Pulse magazine from that area will have a small article about the shows I am doing at It’s A Grind. I will find out more about that in the next couple of weeks and fill you in.
RECORDING WITH THE STU
This week I head out for Atlanta to record with Knowing Stu and Jeff Tomei. We will be gone from the 20th - 30th so I will not have any shows till July after we get back. I will keep everyone posted online as I am able to get on and check in. You can hit up the Myspace blog section to see how things are going while I am out.
I think the new Stu tunes are sounding great, and I am sure they will be even better once Jeff works his magic on them.
SMA bands playing in town
If you are in town and looking for shows to see while we are gone, you can go to the SMA calendar section of their web site and check in on what is up. Here is the link for that: www.tampabayentertainment.com/sma/calendar.shtml.
I know Soulfound is at Bourbon Street in NPR on the 20th, Auditorium is playing with Grey Market and the Oaks at Rasher’s on the 22nd and Four Star Riot will be at the Dunedin Brewery this coming Saturday the 23rd. I saw listings for Military Junior and Have Gun Will Travel as well.
These bands are awesome and they are local and they need you out there so we encourage you to support them. If you can make it out, it is well worth the trip and the cover If there is one.
AMERICANA FEST II
Our first band show after I get back will be at Skippers Smokehouse on July 7th for the Americana Fest II put on by Ted Lukas from Hangtown and 88.5 FM. Many thanks to Ted for having us back again this year. Scott will be in town for that show as well as Anson, so we are looking forward to having the full band back on stage together. Hey Everybody,
I want to send my thanks to all that came out this past week and weekend. It was great to have the support from our friends at the shows.
Friday I met some really great songwriters at Rasher’s and had a good time playing with everyone. Rob Coe, Mattie Lovejoy, Ben Bakker, Navine Moyet, Mike Magarelli and I all did a “Round Robin” style performance doing 4 songs each and going around like that till the end of the night.
Saturday I played with Auditorium and Nous Rapport at Pastimes down in Sarasota. You can still check out most of the artists I performed with on our top friends on Myspace. Both of these bands played awesome sets. Thanks to Joran and crew for making it down our way and to Nous Rapport for all their help in promoting the show.
Thanks to Ben and Rasher’s for the songwriter show as well as Luca and everyone at Pastimes for letting me set up an original music showcase in Sarasota. We should have a band date down there in the coming months. I will keep you posted on the line up and when that will happen.
CHANNEL 10 / STUDIO 10
This past Tuesday I did a performance and interview on Studio 10. We talked a little about the new EP and Americana Fest II coming up in July.

Thanks to John for the invite to play IMG and to Bruce for booking me at Flying Dog.

Friday we are trying the Songwriter show at Rasher Tierney’s in the Backroom and will all be performing in the round. Thanks to Ben for putting this together. The line up is listed on Myspace and includes a number of great original acoustic artists. Ben will be performing as well, which I think is the first one since ROW broke up. It will be a good opportunity to hear his new stuff.
Saturday we will have our first show at Pastmes Pub. I will actually be doing that one solo and then Auditorium and Nous Rapport will be performing band sets after I open. This will be a free one and we will get started around 10pm.
Sunday I am going up to Tampa for a cable access TV interview and performance. We will be talking about BAAMO and our trip to Austin for SXSW. I will find out if there will be a link or video available next week after they record the show.

Thanks to Hildegard’s and Lisa & family that have been coming out to see me every time I make it up there. Also to the good folks at It’s A Grind in Naples. I had a pretty good turn out this past Saturday and left with a few new friends on the list and a few less CD‘s than what I went down there with.
I have been a little under the weather the past few days . My big moves have been from the bed to the couch and back, which has been driving me crazy. I think I am on the tail end however and I am looking forward to this coming week and weekend especially.

Hey Everybody,
Sorry it's been a while since i've updated this news page. As Dean has mentioned in previous newsletters, I, Scott, Guitar ist and lap steel player with Dean for 12 years now, have moved to las vegas. I am now the production manager and audio supervisor at The Beatles Revolution Lounge, in The Mirage Hotel, and periodically fly back to Tampa Bay to play with the Human Condition. I will be back for the upcoming Americana Fest, at Skippers Smokehouse on Saturday, July 7, 2007, and am really looking forward to playing these tunes and seeing the guys and all of your smiling faces. In the meantime, I hear that dustin is doing a great job filling in on guitar, so please continue to support Dean, Mark, Mike, Anson, Dustin, Dayna, and the Human Condition. And if anyone is ever in Vegas, feel free to contact me anytime, I'll get you in the club and your first couple drinks are on me. scott@thebeatlesrevolutionlounge.com. Thanks and much love, Scott Anderson
This is from Dean:
I wanted to send my thanks to everyone that showed up for the Dunedin Brewery show last Friday. Some of our long time friends Dave, Wayne, Carla, Kirk, Laura and a few folks that seem to be making it out for those every third Friday shows pretty regularly as well. Many thanks for your support.
Also to Travis and the whole crew at the Brewery. I really appreciate the steady gig and the support they have given us the past couple of years.
Oh Yeah, thanks to Dustin too, he did a great job at his first gig with us filling in for Scott. If you missed it, we have June 9th and 15th coming up for band gigs and you can check him out then.
Here is what we have coming up this week:
SARASOTA
I will be at my regular Thursday gig at Four Gees this week on Thursday. The turn out was real good last week and the night went really well. Dayna may stop into this weeks show and join me on violin so you may be able to catch that if you have not seen us play It’s A Grind. Again, really cool vibe in this place and a nice spot to grab something to eat, dessert and coffee or a beer / glass of wine If you are so inclined.
They were working on a pizza recipe last week and I got to sample their Fresh Mozzarella, Tomato and Caper pizza. Really, really good stuff. Music, food, drinks, great people. I hope to see you out there at one of these shows soon.
VALDOSTA
I am driving up to Valdosta, GA for a show Friday at Hildegard’s. I am really looking forward to getting back up there and playing this venue. I don’t know if I just know how to pick the right places or what, but this is another great place to hang out and enjoy music, food and art all at the same time. That show
starts and ends early, 7-9pm for those of you up in that area.
NAPLES
I know what you are thinking, “is he really playing in Valdosta and Naples in the same weekend?” The answer is yes, and I never claimed to be a completely logical person. I am driven by something else for sure, I just wish it was better on gas a came with a chauffeur.
Either way, I am going for it. Almost 400 miles and 5 hours of road time. If anyone has a CD or 10 I can borrow I would like to catch up on my listening time this weekend.
Seriously though, It’s A Grind in Naples (Saturday) is always a good gig. I may be doing an interview with a magazine called Pulse down there about these shows. I will keep you posted on that as I find out more. 8-10pm Free and all ages.

Hey Everybody,
Happy belated Easter!! We hope you had a good weekend.
This past week was pretty crazy. It’s A Grind, Four Gee’s, 88.5 FM, and 2 shows in St. Augustine.
Thanks to everyone that came out and to all the venues for having us. Thanks to Colton for bringing me in again and for giving me a spot to stay.
I want to thank the press in that area for their support too. I had a few people show up from reading the listing in the Compass and the Folio in Jax ran a picture as well as the listing in their paper.
I met a couple that came down from the Valdosta area to see the show as well. They heard about the band from Hildegard’s and decided to make the drive on their Harley to see us.
Link to the radio
In case you did not get a chance to hear the radio show we did this past Friday on 88.5, here is the link to check it out:http://www.wmnf.org/programs/play_archive/1507626?type=long-term
Many thanks to Bill Dudley and the rest of the crew, they were all really cool and great to work with. They mentioned possibly putting one of the tunes on a compilation that they give out at marathon time.
Thanks to Bev too, for showing up and bringing me some new music for my road trip to St. Augustine.
Thursday at Four Gees
This past Thursday was my first show at Four Gees in Sarasota. The show went really well and I am looking forward to the rest of the month there. If you get a chance to come out, it is from 7:30pm - 9:30pm on Thursdays through April. The show is free and all ages are welcome.
I may be going in for an interview and performance there this Wednesday on a radio spot they do from the venue. I am not sure of all the details yet, but I think it is an internet type radio show. I will let you know when I find out.
BAND SHOW IN BRADENTON - This Friday
Live original bands in Bradenton? Could it be? Oh yeah, and a great line up for this one too. Rebekah Pulley and the Reluctant Prophets as well as Woodale will be at Rasher Tierney’s with us this Friday.
Scott will be out of town for this one, so Mark, Mike and I will be doing the show as a 3 piece. Come on out and get a copy of the new EP if you do not have one. I only have about 10 or so left and then we will have to wait for the order of new ones to come in.
Speaking of the EP, we are pretty excited about how things are going. We released the CD in March on the 10th and now coming up on one month and we are about out of the 100 that we started with. Thanks to all of you that have picked one up.
Here are the Details on the shows this week:

Hey Everybody,
This past week the band took it a little easy and recovered from the Austin trip. I had a couple of acoustic shows south of the skyway and we hit the Garage on
Friday for the SMAsh 8 show, which was great by the way.
Thanks to everyone at It’s A Grind in Sarasota and Naples and to Dayna for coming out and performing and to her family for being so supportive. My friend Jason who I have not seen in quite a while showed up too, which was a great surprise.
This week we have a gig at Limey’s Pub with Experimental Pilot. We are going to do 2 sets at Limey’s and make a night of it, so we hope you can make it out for that. Check out Experimental Pilot atwww.myspace.com/experimentalpilot. These guys are great, and we thank them for joining us this week.
We also have an offer to do a show at Skippers on Friday with the Chris McCarty Band. Scott and I will be doing the show as an acoustic duo. Our set is from 8-8:45pm. You can go to www.skipperssmokehouse.com for more info.

In other news, we will be performing LIVE on 88.5 FM Friday April 6th at 9 am for their “LIVE Music Showcase.” I sent in an e-mail about performing and I also sent them a CD this week. They offered us the date and we will be on the morning of the 6th for a full band set. You can go towww.wmnf.org for more info on the station. You can listen on the radio or on line that day. They will also archive the performance so you can check it out whenever you have the time.
I will be sending out a reminder about the show, but I wanted to give everyone a heads up and thank 88.5 and Bill Dudley for having us on.
WMNF should have the CD by now so if you want to hear a tune off the EP you can call them at 813-239-9663 or e-mail them atdj@wmnf.org and request a tune. Monday - Friday is their Sonic Detour program from 4-5pm so that may be the best time for requests.
Alright, thank you all for your support and thanks to all that wrote in about last weeks e-mail and the “what we learned section.” I appreciate the feed back

Back from Austin - Shows this week - What we learned on the road
Hey Everybody,
Well, we are back from Austin and the tour. We had a great time and picked up a few shows while we were out.
I fell way behind in keeping everyone updated, but we were so busy and I was without wireless a few places we stayed. Besides, who wants to sit at the computer when there are so many great bands to see.
I realized too, that I did not get a chance to write and thank everyone at It’s A Grind for the gifts and the cake for my birthday show the week before we left town. Dayna and David & Laura gave me gas cards for the trip so that was awesome. Thanks guys and thanks to Kevin and his wife for the cake and for being such a great support over the last couple of years. Scott, Patty and Seaira showed and surprised me as well.
ATTITUDE OF GRATITUDE
Speaking of thanks, I wanted to mention some of the folks that made the tour happen and send our thanks to everyone involved.
To BAAMO who gave us this opportunity, we can’t thank you all enough for the experience and the support.
To Mike’s family in Houston and Austin for giving us places to stay and for being so kind. Thank all of you so much for making us feel at home and for letting us take over your floors, beds and showers and for not asking us to leave or throw us out. A special thanks to George the dog, for being so friendly.
To the venues where we had shows booked: Hildegard’s, Super Happy Fun Land, Yard Dog
as well as the venues who let us play while we were out: Urban Cup Cafe, HiHo Lounge and Kajuns Pub
To the artists that helped us out with some of those gigs:
Nessiewww.myspace.com/nessie For the show at HiHo. These guys are awesome and they were so cool to help us out and let us use their stuff. Go buy their CD it is awesome. Then go see them rock out and you can sing along!!
Elliott Cohnwww.myspace.com/neworleansunderdawgs for the gig at Kajuns Pub. We split the night with Elliott and had a great time. Elliott played with the Cosmic Sweat Society and is an awesome guitarist who moved from Tampa to New Orleans.
To KOOP radio 91.7 FMwww.koop.org for inviting us in to perform on the air.
And to everyone that bought one of our CD’s or signed the list or who took the time to talk to us or shake a hand and let us know they enjoyed a set or a song.
We thank you all very much.
THIS WEEK
This week I am doing a couple of acoustic shows and we are going to the SMAsh 8 radio benefit show on the 23rd at the Garage. I have It’s A Grind in Sarasota on Wednesday and on Saturday in Naples.

What we learned this trip
1. Scott can pull off a pretty mean whistle solo
2. We are partial to Wendy’s…if we are talking fast food
3. Taco Cabana can not make chicken tacos
4. Speaking of food, there is no bad salsa in Texas
5. Anson snores louder than Scott
6. Mark snores sometimes too
7. I like sleeping alone in the van - see 5 & 6 above
8. When calling for a last minute gig, some venues will say no
before you finish a sentence. It doesn’t sound like no it sounds like Naah…Naah
9. Cabs in New Orleans have weak axles
10. It may take over an hour or more to get a cab in Austin
11. If it takes that long in Austin to get a cab, you may accept a ride from a stranger In a car who gives you a business card
12. When Mike says “Grab what you want from the Dim Sum cart”
he does not actually mean “Grab it” from the cart
13. That puffy thing with the black stuff in it off the Dim Sum cart- Naah
14. A venue willing to give you 2 pitchers before you start is cool with a not so sober set of music
15. Scott likes to dance after a show where the venue gives you 2 pitchers before you start
16. Mike and Mark like to take videos of Scott
17. Anson probably shouldn’t do jell-o shots
Alright, I will leave it at that. Thank you all for your support.
Peace,

Hey Everybody,
We hope you all had a great weekend.
Many thanks to Colton for letting me host his songwriter night at Santa Maria Fisherman's Wharf last Friday. Also to the good folks at Santa Maria for taking care of us and for being so cool.
I performed with Drew Dixon and Amy Hendrickson. Drew plays fiddle and mandolin as well as guitar. He sat in on my tunes and Amy's tunes and played a few of his own. Great stuff. Amy was great as well. You can check out her site on Myspace at www.myspace.com/13623658.
We will be back up there in April on the 6th for the songwriter show and then the 7th we will do a full band show with Colton's band Cornerstone.
I wanted to send out a thank you to the Compass news paper up there. They have been great about helping promote the shows. The Compass is the weekend section of the paper that comes out Friday's in St. Augustine. They had the Songwriter show listed toward the front (I think it was page 3) with all the info I sent in.
TUNE ME ON - Sarasota Pod Cast
Speaking of news and music support, I wanted to mention this Sarasota pod cast called Tune Me On from the Sarasota Herald. You can go to http://www.heraldtribune.com/apps/pbcs.dll/section?CATEGORY=PODCAST for more information.
They are doing interviews and reports on the local scene. They had a great write up on the local LIVE music scene not too long ago. Thanks for their support of live original music in the Bradenton / Sarasota area.
Five - the new EP
The new EP "five" should be done (better be done, for our sake) this week. Next week we hit the road for Austin, so we are hoping to have things all put together. I have "It's A Grind" down in Sarasota this week on Wednesday and I may have a copy or so available there.
Mark put a sample mix together if you want to get an idea of what the CD will sound like. I will try to post the MP3 on Myspace some time today. www.myspace.com/thehumancondition.
KOOP 97.1 FM RADIO in Austin
I received an e-mail this morning from a radio station in Austin called KOOP 97.1 FM . They are going to have us in for a LIVE in the studio performance on Friday, March16th at 7pm. We will get a 45 minute spot which will be aired and archived I believe. You should be able to get online and hear it Friday if you are home around that time.
You can go to www.koop.org for more information. This station is a community radio station, like our own 88.5 FM. If you do not know about that station you can go to www.wmnf.org to find out more.
Thanks to Caitlin and the folks at KOOP for supporting an out of town band in Austin. We really appreciate the opportunity.
SHOWS THIS WEEK
This week I have It's A Grind in Sarasota on my Birthday, a show in Orlando on Friday for the CCMAD folks with Knick from Orlando and then we leave for Valdosta on Saturday morning for a show at Hildegard's.
Saturday's show will be the first on the road show to Austin. Hildegard's is a great place, so we are looking forward to the night there. We play from 7-9pm acoustic. It will be Scott, Mike, Anson and I doing 2 sets kind of stripped down with percussion, mandolin, lap steel and acoustic guitars. So far we have only done solo and duo shows out of town, so I am looking forward to an almost full band night there.
Friday I am back at Studio Café for a CCMAD show featuring Knick from Orlando. We will split the night there and the music will begin at 10pm. You can check out Knick's music at www.myspace.com/knickmusic.
Wednesday is the last show in town till after Austin. I am hoping to have a couple copies of the EP done by that night. It is also my Birthday that night so cash, check or money order will be fine…gas card…anyone?? We are driving to Austin people.
I am kidding. Just come on out for a proper send off to Austin, that is all I ask. Cake would be OK.

Hey Everybody,
We want to send our thanks to all the bands that performed with us this weekend.
Thanks to Red Boy for making the trip down from Gainesville and to Joey from Natural Blend for playing at the Dunedin Brewery with us.
We did Abbey Road with Hangtown and Shane Meade and the sound on
Saturday night and we received a nice spot in the TBT about that show. Thanks to them for the help with getting the word out. The line up changed before the show, so we will have to get Brian Merrill (The Threads, Barely Pink) out with us some time soon.
I also had the acoustic shows at both of the It’s A Grind venues this past week. I wanted to send my thanks to them as well. I have been working with the folks in Sarasota since October of 2005, and the shows at the It’s A Grind in Naples are becoming a regular event as well. We are looking at shows at least once a month in Naples and maybe more depending on the band schedule.
Thanks to all of these venues for their support of LIVE original music.
Oh Yeah, I wanted to send a thank you out to Jay from Military Junior for coming out to see us at Abbey Road this past Saturday. Military Junior is a great band from St. Pete. You can check them out atwww.myspace.com/militaryjunior. I am looking into booking a show with them very soon. Great band and great guys too.
The new EP - “five”
Mastering should be done on the CD this week and design stuff is coming together too. It may be after Austin before we are able to get the EP out locally, and our first band show back in town will not be till the 29th at Limey’s. I will probably have the CD out at the acoustic shows before we get them out at a band show.
We are on the fence about a CD release party. Right now our focus is on Austin and the tour. I will keep you posted on things. In the meantime, you can check out the band version of “Purple Heart” on the Myspace site atwww.myspace.com/thehumancondition.
Songwriter shows in St. Augustine & Orlando
I have 2 songwriter showcase shows going on out of town this month. I am guest hosting Colton’s show at the Fishermans Wharf in St. Augustine on Friday the 2nd and I perform at the Studio Café in Orlando with Knick the 9th for a CC Mad management show. Thanks to Colton for trusting me with his show in St. Augustine and to the folks in CC Mad who are doing so much for the Orlando music scene.
MARCH MADNESS
Well, we are all over the place in March. St. Augustine, Sarasota, Orlando, St. Pete and Naples and that is just the Florida shows. We have Valdosta, GA, Houston TX and Austin TX this month and if I have anything to do with it, we will pick up another gig or two while we are on the road. I am still looking into Tallahassee and New Orleans.
We are really, really looking forward to performing shows on the road and checking things out in Austin. We can not thank the BAAMO folks enough for taking us this year.
Smash 8: radio benefit show
March 23rd Joran is having a benefit for SMAsh Radio at the Garage in St. Pete to raise funds for the pod casts and studio things they need to make the show go. Here is a post from the SMA site about the show:
The Southeast Music Alliance has been supporting local music for five years - without advertisers or sponsors. One year ago, they began podcasting a monthly show, SMAsh Radio, promoting the music of Tampa Bay and beyond. Their monthly subscribers have grown from 300 to 1200 within the past year on iTunes alone.
Now, in order to bring you more quality coverage of the local music scene - including music, news and concert listings - as well as their exclusive artist-on-artist interviews, live recordings and more, they've decided to beef up their collection of microphones, headphones, etc. And what other way to raise some cash, than to throw a big party?
SMAsh 8: A Benefit for SMAsh Radio - 03.23.07
Performances by Auto!Automatic!!, Military Junior, The Semis, Auditorium, Malayne...Plus special guest appearances!
Who: SMAsh Radio
What: Funds/awareness-raiser for the show!
When: Friday, March 23
Where: The Garage. 662 Central Ave. St. Petersburg
More: All Ages. $5 21+ / $8 under 21. Doors at 8 p.m. Show at 9 p.m.
We will be attending this event and encourage you to come out if you can too. Joran is doing great work for the scene here in the ST. Pete and Tampa Bay area. The SMA is something we are a part of and we believe strongly in supporting the musicians that are out there working hard and supporting each other in this scene and beyond.
We hope to see you there!!

Hey Everybody,
We hope you had a great week.
Many thanks to Donna Marie Marcantonio and Java Moon for the show on Friday. Jim Glover performed as well. Jim plays acoustic and banjo and I picked up a couple of banjo tips from him after the show. You can check out Donna’s site at www.dmmarcantonio.com. Jim is without a web site, so you may just have to watch the paper to see when he is performing.
Java moon has their own site as well at www.javamoon.com. If you are an artist looking to book a show in Bradenton you can contact them through the site and see about booking a night there.
Saturday at It’s A Grind in Naples went great. Thanks to Lindsay for having me out. I will be back there this Thursday for anyone that signed the list and bought a CD.
Thanks also to Charles from The Algebra for coming out and showing some support. Charles has a Myspace site that you can check out at www.myspace.com/thealgebra. I am going to work on getting him up to Bradenton and St. Pete for a couple of the songwriter shows in the future.

Hey Everybody,
Many thanks to Anodyne Project and Moon Daddy for joining us Friday at Abbey Road. It was good to see the guys in Moon Daddy back out performing. They did an awesome job for their first show and brought out a great crowd as well. Anodyne project played a great set and were a great help that night so thanks to them for that.
We will keep up with both bands and have them out again for other shows in the future.
Thanks to Abbey Road for letting original bands perform in their venue and for letting us set up these showcases. We will be back there on the 24th with Hangtown and Brian Merrill from The Threads so mark your calendars for that one.
Thanks also to the folks at the Florida State Fair too. We enjoyed the night and we got to open for Elvis…Gary Elvis too. It does not get much better than that folks.
THE HUMAN CONDITION EP
This week we have been listening to what we feel are the final mixes for the EP. The Mastering should be done soon and we hope to have some CD’s available before the end of February. I will keep you posted on how things are going.
FEATURED ARTISTS ON MUSIC FOR OUR TROOPS SITE
This Wednesday for Valentines Day the Music for our troops site will be posting the band version of Purple Heart on their site along with a number of other artists who have written songs about and for those serving in the military. They will also be featuring our band on their site as well. I wrote Purple Heart in honor of my grandfather who served in WWII so it means a lot to me to have the song on their site. You can visit them at

MYSPACE
I did some updates to the Myspace site recently. If you guys get a chance to check it out and let me know what you think I would appreciate it. I added a new bio for the band and changed the layout to add a picture of us from the Fair performance. Go to www.myspace.com/thehumancondition.
Speaking of pictures, I wanted to thank the folks who have been taking photos recently. Bev dropped a CD of band pics off to me this week from the Dave’s Aqua Lounge show and Penny took a bunch of pics at the fair. The B&W photo of the “floating guitar” was done by Bev and the new pic on the site was taken by Penny.
Also, the B&W solo pic from Java Moon with the painting of the lady playing guitar in the background was done by Britt from the Bradenton area and the image on our site for the song Last Dance was done by Josie. Josie did the pics for the Fireflies CD which I still need to finish.
Anyway, many thanks to all of you that have been helping us capture these moments. If anyone needs pictures done, let me know and I will pass your info on to these folks.
Peace, and thank you all very much for your support.

Hey Everybody,
We can’t thank you all enough for the support this weekend.
The show at the Globe went great. We had a decent amount of people sign the mailing list and John and Cat were really good. They will stay on our top friends on Myspace (www.myspace.com/thehumancondition) for this week, so check them both out when you get a chance.
The BAAMO “One for the Road” show at Dave’s was amazing. The place was completely packed. It was actually hard to move through Dave’s there were so many people. You had to go out the front door and around to the back to get to the bathroom. Sometime
